Bidness as usual

Congress made a grand pretense of reading the Constitution, then having every bill have to have the actual part of the Constitution that justifies it cited as part of the bill.

Only to have virtually every bill rubberstamped as either “necessary and proper”, chasing “the common welfare”, or for “Regulating interstate commerce”. Almost ZERO of the bills have ANYTHING to do with the actual 17 enumerated powers delegated to the federal (aka now national) government, yet the Repubs pat themselves on the back for holding the lib/progs feet to the “fire”, and the Democrats putter around, happy with their end run around the annoyance of this pretense that ANYTHING that they are doing will be restricted.

And both of these partisans pat themselves on the back for having adhered to the letter of the laws rather than the spirit and trumpet their accomplishment to their constitutents. And no one then worries about being held accountable or being not reelected.

And we still end up with an unconstitutional government.

And the politicians hope that the little “r”s and the TEAsers will get tired and lose interest so they can go bakc to bidness as usual.
