Presbo told the truth earlier, when he said, “I think that when you spread the wealth, it’s good for everybody.”
Key on the word “you”, as in “the person who earns the wealth”. When THAT person then spreads that same wealth, it IS good for everybody. That is what happens in free enterprise. A person has incentive to work and get paid for their labor and efforts, then they have incentive to spend and spread (aka redistribute) that wealth. They make effective, efficient purchases that have maximum effect in the free market. They buy things that have to be produced and maintained and that employ people doing it. Despite the lib/prog fantasy of the Scrouge McDuck vault of sequestered money, wealth hidden in a mattress not only does no work to increase its value, it actually loses value.
When the government interjects itself and takes it upon itself to seize wealth and then spread it, it is only good for the government and then only for the short term. It is bad for people that have taken from them the opportunity to grow as individuals and be self supporting adults. It is bad for the political cronies who go along with the moral compromises and self-interested corruption that they use to justify partaking of the legally but immorally gotten gains. It is bad for the govenment long term as it takes the republic ever closer to financial ruin. And it is bad for the person whose wealth has been seized as it disincentivizes their desire to excell and do more.
Presbo actually spoke the truth. He just didn’t realize it.
