Pullout leading to decreased violence against Christians

The CIA and the NSA told Presbo that the troop pullout from Iraq would leave a chaos-filled power vacuum where the US had no leverage or say-so and the there would be massive outbreaks of sectarian violence.

72 people were blown to bits with bombs there yesterday.

The Shi’ite-led government issued warrants against the highest politically placed Sunnis this past Monday, the day after the US troop withdrawal was completed.

It’s like all of the massive expenditures of taxdollars and American lives there has been for naught.   They are hell-bent on setting up a single faction power-broker to run the show, just like Saddam again.  Under Saddam, there was regular persecution of the more than a million Chistians that lived in Iraq.  Thanks to our efforts, there are now less than a third of that number left for the Islamist sects to target.

Bigger problem than the power vacuum in Iraq is the leadership vacuum….

in the US.

Superb observations, Drrik. My compliments. My only comment would be that we need a BIG vacuum to sweep up and out the vermin who occupy D.C.

  2. drrik says:

Yes we do, thank you. Too many issues with folks in the country saying that they dislike the vermin, but our particular vermin is ok and that our particular vermin at LEAST able to abscond with a pile of taxdollars appropriated from other people. Sort of like the bigands and pirates that were hired by governments to enforce the laws of the moment and to capture merchant ships that belonged to people from other countries. Theft is ok as long as it comes from an “other”. It is a HUGELY corrupting system and the reason why even well meaning folk end up plugging into the system and still being able to sleep well at nite themselves. No doubt, Senators Dodd and Frank do not view their corruption as making them somehow “bad” people although they managed to saddle the country with Dodd-Frank. They were merely operating within the “allowed” parameters of the system. It was legal and it earned them the accolades of their corrupt group. Sort of likeKipling’s Bandaar-log. “We all say it so it must be so!”
Go along to get along and the result is we have a Congress of RINOs and DINOs who only represent themselves, and a bankrupt country.

Query. When the country collapses, is it going to be worth dedicating scarce resources to hire some mercenary to track these people down and bring them before the public court of the day ala French Revolution and Bastille Day ?

  3. Mrs. AL says:

Your comments are noted and right at this moment I don’t have any disagreement with them. (Of course being female I reserve the right to change my mind — tic.)

As for your query — if the country collapses, isn’t it going to be ever man for himself and won’t resources be nonexistent as we know them today? Won’t venture any further in response as I suspect big brother is ‘watching,’

  4. drrik says:

Likely Americans will do what we have always done in every place where the national government welfare state HASN’t been established, ie, look after ourselves, help our neighbors and the poor and the injured, police the area to prevent the criminal fringe from preying on anyone. I expect that the national government will then try to intercede under the guise of “helping” and then be trying to resestablish a more socialist arrangement.
