Quid pro quo or no

New York as of late has taken to ignoring the legal permits issued by other states to its citizens to carry firearms.  Merdith Graves, a nursing/medical student touristing in New York to visit the 911 Memorial tried to check her firearm for which she has a Tennessee-issued permit to carry.  She was arrested and has a trial comming up in March.   Last week, New York “caught” Navy SEAL Shaun Day for a traffic violation and committed him to being an inpatient at Belvue Psychistric Hospital because he had a weapon and claimed to be a Navy SEAL.  Obviously noone except a crazy person would claim to be a Navy SEAL and carry a weapon.  Hardly.

If New York wants to get all high and mighty about not recognizing the legal gun permits of other states, maybe it’s time for the surrounding states to stop recognizing the legal driving permits issued by New York.  Good for the goose, good for the gander.  See how long New York lasts with its citizens not being able to drive outside  New York without having the same rules applied.

I’m betting, not long.
