Clint Eastwood, that paragon of American idealism, at least based on the movie heroes that he’s chosen to portray, had come out with a role in a Superbowl add that was all apologetic and minimizing the state our country has been transformed or mutated into in the past 3 years. Ostensibly trying to make Chrysler look reasonable and like a good option, it instead left enough unsaid and implied to be interpreted or misinterpreted as a campaign ad for Presbo. It went on about how “we all pulled together” and totally omitted that Detroit basically got an $11 billion dollar redistribution of American cash that the rest of America now has to pay back to China. And that it got “written off” so that Detroit and the unions that received it do not have to pay it back to the taxpayers or the government.
So now we are supposed to buy that Chrysler and the other recipient of the slushed funds, GM are “doing their part to move the country forward”. Ignoring that we could have bought 2 GMs for the cost of the $11 billion and both would have been free of the weight of the still unfunded union pensions that GM and Chrysler are still not going to be able to pay.
So it’s halftime in America. And instead of a full team, we have a team where half of the lineup has been trained to do nothing but receive. And where nobody rushes, there are no offensive or defensive lineman, our fullbacks and halfbacks have been negotiating playing for foreign teams as fast as their agents can set it up, and the few remaining players are cajoled into defending the quarterback who either keeps trying to punt or else is actually actively trying to handoff the ball to opposing teams. Oh, and its 4th and 7 months to go and we keep falling back deeper in to socialist territory.
And the half-time show by LMFAO is laughing their f-ing a– off at us.
Can’t say I’m excited about the prospects of winning.,
