How stupid is a $50 lightbulb?

Not as stupid as a $46,000 car (after an additional ten grand government subsidy) that is energy intensive to manufacture, generates huge amounts of toxic chemicals to dispose of when it is old, has a limited range, doesn’t get that much better mileage than a gas only model, costs more per mile to operate, has twice the complicated amount of stuff to go wrong and break, unpredictably catches on fire some unknown time after a fender bender on its side, and turns into a brick if you leave it parked and don’t run it for 3 weeks.

The green part is nausea that owners who were stupid enough to buy one have.

Not quite as stupid as the high-end-all-electric luxury car bought by some Hollywood luminaries. None of the vehicles made it farther than 180 miles before conking out and leaving the engineers scratching their heads and unable to get two gray-matter synapses firing together either. At $140,000 for the vehicle that’s $778 per mile, not including depreciation.

    A. They can afford it.
    B. More importantly, they volunteered.
    C. It just gives them more face time with the press, which is what they wanted anyway.

“Green,” once my favorite color, has to qualify as the biggest hoax ever perpetrated on our dumbed-down country. Along with “universal health insurance will cost less!”

I say, “Go Green!” frequently. That’s followed by someone else responding, “Go White!” We’re, you see Michigan State Spartans.

That said, I’d no more go for a “green” car than a spartan car.

😉 We are the hapless fans of the most inconsistent college teams in the country: the University of Arizona, all sports, all the time. Inconsistent all the time, I mean.

What about. “America is the greatest country in the world. Please join me to change it.”
