5 people identified so far to blame for Fast and Furious.

The congressional report on the illegal ATF-sponsered gun smuggling operation specifically faults Acting Director Kenneth Melson; Deputy Director William Hoover; William Newell, special agent in charge of the Phoenix Field Division; William McMahon, deputy assistant director for field operations, and Mark Chait, assistant director for field operations.

Interestingly, Director Melson told the congressional investigators that he was being made the scapegoat.  He did not disclose any higher-ups as bearing the responsibility, but did admit that they were doing damage control.  Deputy Director Newell has his own attorney to speak for him, who said that House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa “has consistently shown that he won’t let the truth get in the way of his quixotic political witch hunt.”

According to thefreedictionary.com, a “witch hunt” is “an investigation carried out ostensibly to uncover subversive activities but actually used to harass and undermine those with differing views.”

Which is true, because the idea that it is ok to sell over 2000 untracked and untraceable automatic weapons to members of a Mexican drug cartel that are then used to kill Border Patrol agent Brian Terry, as well as over 200 Mexican nationals is one that I differ with.   Noone wants to be fingered as having known that this was going on.  Because if they knew and did nothing, then they are also culpable for the deaths, instead of merely incompetent to the point that they should have been fired without any benefits.  And that little “damage control” thing?  I would differ there also and call that obstruction of justice. And if the traitor Harry Reid is removed from the Senate chair in less than 100 days, we may just find out if a judge agrees.

And if I had done something that contributed to that many people’s deaths, even as “part of my job”, I would be already convicted and doing time,  instead of being promoted or transfered.

How do they sleep at night?  When they talk about the moral decaying of the country, these are the people that are already there.  They are not protecting us.  They were not trying to catch bad guys.  They are not doing us any service trying to make the 2nd amendment look bad.  They are betraying us for money or power or both.  This is evil and they are working as agents of tyranny.
