Now it makes sense

”The Sinaloa Cartel under the leadership of defendant’s father, Ismael Zambada-Niebla and ‘Chapo’ Guzman, were given carte blanche to continue to smuggle tons of illicit drugs into Chicago and the rest of the United States and were also protected by the United States government from arrest and prosecution in return for providing information against rival cartels which helped Mexican and United States authorities capture or kill thousands of rival cartel members,”_Jesus Vicente Zambada-Niebla, currently on trial in Chicago for federal drug charges.

Fast and Furious wasn’t to track guns, it was to supply them to the Sinaloa cartel.  Then the cartel would be better positioned to take down rivals.

Sort of like when the mafia got set up to control all of the gambling, drugs, prostitution, and loan sharking in most of the major cities in the country back when J. Edgar was in charge of the FBI.  No gang wars.  No bodies in the streets.  No civilians getting robbed.  And most importantly, no bad publicity.  Everything ran quietly, politely, professionally.  Like a business.  The mob gave feedback to the government on who was trying to set up shop to compete with them.  The  government got to arrest them and make lots of good press about what a good job they were doing keeping the city safe.  The mob got to corner the market and quietly service the needs of those who desired things that were illegal.

And here we thought all this time that the Department of Justice was merely ineptly pretending to track guns while letting them go loose to the cartels to try to create ill publicity when violent shooting resulted and then justify a negative PR campaign that would then justify having the government try to clamp down on American’s guns over the legal barrier of the 2nd Amendment and the objection of much of the public.  As if that had a prayer.

Those DOJ folks, they’re smarter than we thought.

This Jesus/cartel guy, the government may have to suicide him.

Good article, another connection. The scheming goes on.

I was waffling over whether they were truely evil and corrupt? Or just stupidly, cavalierly, conceitedly incompetent? I think we can now safely rule out the latter.

Drrik, you put your finger right on the question many have. I’ve wondered how far corruption goes before its evil. Obama showed us and far exceeded any question I had.

Have to 2nd bullright’s comment. It just gets deeper and deeper into corruption. I wonder how we will ever get out from underneath all of the mob style crap from the government.

There is a new federal regulation that holds the CEO of a company personally, legally responsible for anything illegal that an employee did. Waiting for it to be applied to the federal government.
