Training 11,200 explosive sniffing dogs simultaneously and ongoing training every day for the foreseeable future. That’s how much bomb-sniffing dog training the 1400 pounds of binary explosive that has been bought by the Department of Homeland Security will do.
High grade stuff. Not the cheap stuff like Timothy McVeigh used. Almost enough explosive power to replicate the Oklahoma City bombing. For training. Whole lotta freaking training going on.
On top of that, thy also are purchasing 750 million rounds of hollow-point 0.40 caliber ammo. An addition to the 450 million rounds that they had already bought. Prohibited to be used in war under the Geneva convention. Also for “training”.
And no longer available to review by concerned citizens on the federal website. Not news you need to know.
Not like they are planning and training for a war against America any time soon.
It’s a jobs program.
Not to be outdone, NOAA has put in a request for 46,000 rounds of the same ammo. They originally said this was for the National Weather Service. Now it is corrected that it is for the law enforcemnt arm of the National Marine Fisheries Service. Just not believeable that the weatherforcasters were going to need all that firepower. Apparantly there is a lot of risk in protecting marine mammals. From their website, ” Our goal is to assure that the many people who enjoy these resources for recreation or rely on them for business follow the rules…’ Or kill them if they don’t?
Even if this is a believable need for armament, on top of this the Social Security Agency is also militarizing itself. They have decided that they need 174,000 rounds of hollowpoint bullets, to be spread around multiple offices. Perhaps they are getting ahead of the curve to handle the anger that will occur once the government finishes bankrupting the system and the checks get cut off. I would guess that if they are worried about people getting that angry, then they had better lay in food and water stocks and plan on not leaving the building.
You can’t make this stuff up.
Well, you can but apparantly there’s no need since the government is really doing it.
