“The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His messenger and strive to make mischief in the land is only this: that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off…” (Koran 5:33).
Suspected Hamas guerrillas planned to try to cross into Gaza from Egypt. The Israeli Defense Force and intelligence learned of the attempted crossing in advance. Israeli intelligence warned their Egyptian military counterparts in advance. Egyptian Field Marshall Mohammed Tantawi apparently did nothing to either prepare for this or stop it. When it happened Israel responded and stopped the attack at the Rafah border crossing. 16 Egyptian military guards were killed.
Egyptian president Morsi responded to this very public embarrassment with the removal of Tantawi and a number of other military heads including chief of staff, the intel chief, and the defense minister and replaced them with Muslim Brotherhood followers/sympathizers. As there is now no parliament, this has left Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood in total control of the legislative branch and essentially all political power in Egypt. No more need for the pretense of that silly little democracy thing and elections. Useful idiots.
Several of the folks that had opposed Morsi were stripped naked and then crucified on trees in front of the presidential palace. Several of the major Islamist organizations in the country were quick to jump in and relate that this was not a choice of the new government. That it is required under the Quran. ( see opening paragraph)
He has made a public statement in diplomatic channels that he had no choice in this because he had to placate the radicals.
This is the guy that Presbo picked and backed to run the show.
Crucifiction is such a good political statement. Sort of devalues it when it becomes a daily thing. No mention in the lib-prog press.
